Accurate 2015 Smokeless Gun Powder

Clear Product Overview

Accurate 2015 propellant is a fast-burning single-base extruded rifle powder optimized for small-capacity bottleneck cartridges and precision benchrest shooting. Renowned among varmint hunters and target handloaders, this clean-burning formulation delivers top-tier velocities and extreme accuracy in small-bore calibers. Because its kernel size is extruded into short, fine sticks, 2015 flows smoothly through standard powder measures while maintaining tight charge weight control. As a result, shooters get sub-MOA precision and low velocity spreads round after round.

Real-World Use Information

When you are dialing in ultra-tight groupings for a 6mm PPC benchrest rig or crafting high-velocity varmint rounds for a .223 Remington, Accurate 2015 propellant provides the ignition speed and pressure profile required for peak barrel performance. Its short-cut stick geometry drops far more consistently than longer, traditional extruded propellants, so you spend less time manually trickling individual grains onto the scale. Furthermore, its versatile burn speed extends into straight-wall cartridges like the .45-70 Government, giving cast bullet shooters predictable ignition and full powder burn down the bore.

Compatibility & Requirements

• Cartridge Compatibility: Excels in small-capacity rifle rounds (.204 Ruger, .222 Rem, .223 Rem, 6mm PPC) and medium straight-wall rounds (.45-70 Govt, .444 Marlin).

• Metering & Tool Compatibility: Short-cut extruded kernels flow reliably through standard rotary measures, digital powder dispensers, and volumetric charge drops.

• Safety Requirement: Always check current load data from Accurate Powders or trusted reloading manuals, starting at the lowest suggested charge weight.

Pros & Limitations

Pros:

• Benchrest Precision: Exceptional shot-to-shot consistency makes it a favorite for 6mm PPC and small-bore competition loads.

• Easy-Metering Sticks: Short-cut kernel size meters significantly better than standard long-cut extruded rifle propellants.

• High Varmint Velocity: Pushes lightweight bullets in .204 Ruger and .223 Rem to flat-shooting, maximum velocities.

• Clean Combustion: Burns fully inside small cases, leaving minimal carbon fouling in the chamber and barrel.

Limitations:

• Temperature Sensitivity: Being a single-base propellant without modern extreme-series coatings, it exhibits moderate velocity variation when exposed to severe summer heat or sub-zero winter temperatures.

• Not for Heavy/Large Cases: Burn rate is too fast for medium-heavy .308 Win loads or large magnum rifle cartridges.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Why is Accurate 2015 propellant popular for benchrest reloading?

A: Accurate 2015 offers an ideal fast burn rate for small match cases like the 6mm PPC and .222 Remington. Consequently, it delivers clean burns, consistent pressures, and extreme accuracy.

Q: Can I use Accurate 2015 powder for .45-70 Government loads?

A: Yes, you can. It performs exceptionally well in .45-70 Government with both cast and jacketed bullets, offering complete powder burn and steady velocities.

Q: How does Accurate 2015 meter compared to other stick powders?

A: Thanks to its short-cut kernel design, 2015 flows much more smoothly through mechanical powder drops than coarse, long-stick extruded propellants.
