federal 209 muzzleloader primers
federal 209 muzzleloader primers. Ignition is everything in muzzleloading. That’s why Federal Premium® developed the 209 muzzleloader primer in stock to complement B.O.R. Lock MZ® bullets. The formulation provides superior resistance to moisture, as well as hot, reliable ignition of both granulated powder and pellets in any conditions. The design eliminates the excessive breech fouling typical of standard shotshell primers.
- Hot reliable ignition in any conditions
- Formulation strongly resists moisture
- Minimizes “crud ring” fouling in the breech area
- 100-count pack
- Perfect for use with B.O.R. Lock MZ System

Between the 777 and the Winchester 209 the Federal was the only 209’s that worked with my Black Horn powder without hang fires or failures. I highly recommend these Federal 209’s if you want to make sure you have great ignition. I used this only so far out of my CVA V2 Optima Pistol .50 cal. with the Black Horn Plug.
